MYK was invited to the ceremony commemorating the 150th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Japan and Switzerland.

A ceremony, commemorating the 150th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Japan and Switzerland, took place in Neuchâtel.

Neuchâtel is the hometown of Swiss diplomat, Aimé Humbert, who visited Japan in 1863 and helped the two countries conclude the bilateral treaty of amity and trade on Feb. 6, 1864. The original paintings, photographs and other documents from Japan, collected by Humbert, are exhibited at the “Ethnography Museum of Neuchâtel”. About 200 people, including government officials from Japan and Switzerland, participated in the ceremony.
