Jean Zwahlen joins MYK advisory board

MYK Group is delighted and honoured to welcome Mrs Jean Zwahlen on MYK advisory board.

Mr Jean Zwahlen is both a diplomat and a central banker.

Formerly trained in the fields of  law and economics, he joined the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs in the late 1950s. In 1967, he became Counsellor to the Swiss Delegation to the OECD in Paris, where he oversaw the economic, monetary and scientific policies and represented Switzerland at the Committee on Invisible Transactions. After his decade long career as Minister and Head of the Financial and Economic Service in the 1970s, he was appointed Ambassador and Head of the Swiss Delegation to the OECD in the early 1980s. In 1987, the Federal Council appointed Mr Zwahlen to the Governing Board of the Swiss National Bank, where he was in charge of the conduct of monetary policy, foreign exchange and payments transactions for the next decade. In 1996, he joined UBP as their Vice-Chairman. Upon leaving his Vice-Chairmanship in May 2006, he was asked to stay with UBP as the Senior Advisor for Asia.

Furthermore, Mr Zwahlen renders his advice and guidance to a number of esteemed organisations and is currently serving as board member of Arab Bank (Switzerland) Ltd.

He was notably Chairman of the Foundation Louis-Jeantet for Medicine, Guest Lecturer at the Graduate Institute of International Studies, Vice Chairman of the Board of BNP Paribas (Suisse) SA and Member of the Academic Councils of the Universities of Lausanne and Neuchâtel and member of the Strategic Committee for Neuchâtel.
